We're Not Waiting for Change. We're Creating it, Together.

This is more than a development plan, it's a movement toward economic empowerment, equitable investment, and community pride. We're laying the foundation for generational impact, where public dollars work with the community, not around it.

The time for piecemeal efforts in South Dallas is over.

South Dallas is rich in history, culture, and resilience. Now, it's time for our investments to match our worth. The Sunny South Dallas PID is our collective tool to take ownership of our economic narrative, ensuring revitalization happens with us, not to us.

We are laying the foundation for a stronger, safer, and more vibrant future—funded by our own community.

Generational hope in South Dallas

What Is a Public Improvement District (PID)?

A Public Improvement District (PID) is a community-driven tool that allows property owners within a defined geographic boundary to collectively fund supplemental services and enhancements beyond what the City of Dallas typically provides.

These enhancements strengthen neighborhood safety, elevate the visual environment, support local commerce, and contribute to long-term stability and revitalization.

The Sunny South Dallas PID was created to bring consistent, resident-informed investment to a historic district long under-resourced compared to other parts of the city — ensuring South Dallas receives the level of support and attention it deserves.

How It Works: Your Investment, Your Control

What is a Public Improvement District (PID)?

A PID is a powerful community-driven mechanism that allows residents, businesses, and property owners to collectively invest in their neighborhood's future.

It's Simple

A small annual assessment on commercial properties within the district funds the improvements.

It's Transparent

Funds are managed locally by Forest Forward and overseen by a Board of Directors made up of South Dallas property owners and community leaders.

It's Proven

PIDs have successfully transformed districts across Dallas, including Deep Ellum, Downtown, and Bishop Arts. Now, it's our turn.
